The Head of Systems and Operations primary responsibility is to direct and execute on the strategic planning, implementation, and maintenance of HR systems and technologies, as well as people operations. They will develop and manage HR systems and processes with a technology-centric and consultative approach, streamlining these as an integrated component of the organization. A significant part of their role involves leveraging HRIS (Workday) capabilities to meet the organization's people team objectives, aligning with its strategic roadmap.

Joining the Firm and HR team during a time of transformation, this individual's role will be critical in creating a scalable, technology-enabled function; adding value to the organization by helping attract, develop, and retain world-class talent through an enhanced and data driven employee experience.

The ideal candidate has robust system/process management experience, a commercial approach to problem solving, and the desire to deeply understand the firm and its challenges. Comfortable leading and driving strategic initiatives and working with cross-functional teams, they possess an owner/operator mindset, and find the right balance between team leadership and diving deep into process details.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Systems Focus:

  • Configuration and Maintenance of Systems: Ensure tools supporting operational processes like payroll, performance management, and employee lifecycle are properly configured.
  • Data Integrity and Security: Safeguard systems and processes, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security.
  • Technology Enhancement Oversight: Oversee enhancements and upgrades of technology, working with IT and vendors for optimal system functions.
  • Control Systems Maintenance: Develop and maintain systems to safeguard employee data and ensure confidentiality.
  • Systems Integration: Ensure that all systems are integrated where possible. Utilize existing tools (Workday Prism) and bring your knowledge of new tools to bring us closer to Workday as a single source of truth.

Operational Focus:

  • Operational Efficiency: Continuously assess current processes, identify enhancements, and implement changes for efficiency.
  • HR Operations Ownership: Create scalable, automated processes within the HR operations framework ensuring compliance and employee engagement.
  • Operational Strategies Execution: Develop and execute strategies, policies, and procedures for smooth HR operations.
  • Operational Excellence: Emphasize precision, articulate risks associated with data inaccuracies to diverse stakeholder groups and ensure compliance.
  • Process & Policy Implementation: Manage the creation and implementation of efficient onboarding and offboarding processes as the company scales utilizing newly acquired Workday modules (Recruit & Journeys), as well as Easy Generator tool
  • Metrics and Reporting Oversight: Ensure systems are structurally set-up to aid in the development of reporting capabilities to aid in the production of data-driven insights to enhance decision-making.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on changes in employment laws and regulations, communicate changes to the appropriate parties and implement necessary revisions.

Leadership:

  • Stakeholder Partnership: Collaborate with stakeholders across the HR Team and Corporate to maintain alignment with strategic focus points of the business areas.
  • Leadership: Provide guidance and foster a high-functioning, collaborative environment for team members.
  • Business Impact: Approach challenges with a commercial mindset; explaining capability constraints, while also seeking to provide alternative paths forward to achieve the desired outcomes.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 10 + years of experience in supporting HCM business cycles and operations
  • Detail oriented and strong analytical skills
  • Expert knowledge of Workday modules and configuration
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices, ideally including international experience
  • Significant experience with SOX Controls
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools
  • Experience in Workday Payroll a plus
  • Collaborative and proactively shares knowledge and expertise with the rest of the team
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills preferred

The annualized base salary for this position is $175,000 - $225,000.

The annualized base salary range represents low and high ends of the base pay range for this position. The specific base salary an employee in this job classification receives depends on a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic work location, prior employment history/experience, job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.

Base pay is just one component of PWP’s total compensation package that may be available to employees. Depending on the position and other factors, other rewards may also include discretionary bonuses, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), paid time off, and many other benefits, subject to applicable eligibility criteria and Firm policies.
